The mission of Pinehurst Elementary School professional school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program that ensures every student achieves the highest possible education in the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development, through an aggressive partnership with students, family, school and community. To achieve quality learning and lifelong success, all students differences, individual and learning styles, will be nurtured through a positive school climate. School counselors will support students and give them access to the tool necessary to enable them to become responsible and productive citizens, who can effectively manage future challenges confidently.

Terrific Kid
Terrific Kids is a character-building program that recognizes students for modifying their behavior. The program encourages kids to become the best version of themselves. When a participant achieves this goal, he or she is recognized for being a Terrific Kid.
Trait of the month
Each month a different trait is selected. The classmate that is exhibiting that trait the best is chosen by his/her classmate or teacher. That student is the Terrific kid for that month.
